#16-June 26 I love cheese!

That's right, I LOVE cheese! Especially "squeeky" cheese curds from Gossner's dairy in Logan. I just happened to stop in on my drive up to Idaho on Saturday.

Next time you're in the area, be sure to stop in for a visit. I recommend the rootbeer and mango flavored milk too!

#15-June 19 Summer Tradtions

This is year #4 in our tradition of Running with Angels at Thanksgiving Point.

My goal was to run the entire thing (no stopping) and to beat my fastest time. I did it!!! In fact, I was so excited about my time I SCREAMED across the finish line! And then wore a big stupid grin on my face the rest of the day. Hooray for acheiving goals!
2010 = 34.25!
2009 = 41.50
2008 = 52-57 min. (I didn't wear a chip that year)
2007 = 38.59

Jen kept pace with me and finished just a pace or two behind.
Anybody want to run with us next year?

#13, June 5--Post Birthday Fun

So, it was my birthday on Friday, June 4th. And since it's not technically a Saturday, I probably shouldn't tell you all about it. But this is my blog so I get to make up the rules.

My birthday was perfectly lovely! I appreciate all the birthday wishes from friends, family, and even strangers. Of course, wearing a crown and carrying balloons and a huge bouquet of flowers, means pleanty of attention from everyone. Gratefully there was no standing on a chair while everone sings "Happy Birthday." Thanks friends!

Next year...the big 40 will be on a Saturday...talk about Saturday of Fun!

Remember back in Elementary School? If it was your birthday you brought the cupcakes to school? Well, the principle still applies as a grown up, I think. I've learned that if I want a big deal made about my birthday, then I'm the one that needs to make the party plans. So, I ordered my very own birthday cake from Creative Chaos, my friend Cherse's company. Check out her Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/CREATIVE-CHAOS/287202997740

She delivered it on Saturday, and I spent all afternoon resisting the temptation to cut into it. I saved it for the family dinner on Sunday...well, except for the fondant balls around the edge. You can see that I ate a few...

The highlight of my Saturday, though, was spending the day with Lauren. We worked in my graden planting flowers and veggies. She was a big help!

Isn't this the cutest thing ever? She did it all by herself. I guess "fort making" is just a childhood instinct!

After I snapped this photo Lauren jumped up and kept saying "Spider! Spider!" and had her arms out-stretched so I would pick her up. I couldn't see anything at first, but then, sure enough, there was this great big black hairy ugly spider crawling on her chair. We both started to freak out a bit!

We have a WINNER!

My drive to NY took approximately 33 hours 36 minutes and 24 seconds (just kidding on the seconds...didn't keep track of that much detail actually). So, our winner is....

Jennifer Dean!

But since she is a contributor to this blog, Ms. Dean graciously removed herself from the competition.

So, our winner is...

Julie J.!

Congratulations Julie! I'll deliver your Mrs. Fields Gift Certificate in person!

Thanks to everyone who participated in our first 52 Fun Saturdays blog contest.
Stay tuned...there will be more!

#12, May 29--13 Hours 26 Minutes

Nebraska --> Iowa --> Illinois --> Indiana --> Ohio
5 states and 850+ miles in 13 hours 26 minutes!
There wasn't much to the adventure on Saturday...just one long drive along I-80.
Iowa is my favorite state of the five we traveled through that day.
And it was fun to see the Mississippi River.
But other than that?
Nope, not much to tell ya.
I didn't even buy magnets
for my fridge.
RATS!

May heaven bless Apple for inventing the iPhone!
It's my favorite traveling companion.
